OREANDA-NEWS Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou supported Austrian Chancellor Christian Stoker's response to Russian Deputy Security Council Chairman Dmitry Medvedev about the country's possible accession to NATO. He wrote about this on the social network X.

Hristoforou published a statement by Stocker stating that the topic of Austria's accession to NATO is not on the agenda. "Very simply, no NATO. Everything is fine," a journalist from an EU country praised the Chancellor's words.

On August 28, Medvedev said that Russia could take measures in response to security threats from Austria if the country joined NATO. In response, Stocker assured that the topic of the country's accession to the organization was not on the agenda. He also recalled that Austria is a neutral country.

Earlier, Khristoforou spoke about the fate of the EU due to the signing by Russia and China of a memorandum on the construction of the Power of Siberia—2 gas pipeline. The journalist called the fate of Europe a foregone conclusion.
