OREANDA-NEWS   The Hungarian authorities are close to agreeing with Brussels on the allocation of billions of euros from European Union funds to his country. This was stated by the new Prime Minister of this country, Peter Magyar. He was quoted by Bloomberg.

We are talking about finances that were once blocked by the EU authorities, who accused the former Hungarian leadership of corruption and violation of the rule of law. This has resulted in weak economic growth in this Eastern European country. It is assumed that unblocking this money will benefit the Hungarian economy and give its government more room for budget maneuvering.

According to Magyar, we are talking about allocating 10.4 billion euros. In addition, Budapest expects to attract more than a billion euros for the modernization of the electricity grid, as well as to achieve European investments in railway infrastructure.

Earlier, Magyar stated the desirability of Hungary's transition to the euro, but refrained from predicting the exact timing. According to him, Budapest wants to analyze the state of the economy first.
