OREANDA-NEWS  US citizens staying in Russia are advised to leave the country urgently due to the risk of mobilization. Such an appeal was made by the US Embassy in Moscow.

The American diplomatic mission suggested that the Russian authorities may refuse to recognize dual citizenship to Americans in Russia, deprive them of access to US consular assistance, as well as subject them to mobilization and prevent them from leaving the country. "US citizens residing or traveling in Russia must leave the country immediately. Exercise increased caution due to the risk of unlawful detentions," the message says.

In addition, the American diplomatic mission recommended that fellow citizens refrain from traveling to Russia because of the "unpredictable consequences" of the conflict in Ukraine. It is also noted that "the capabilities of the US government to provide ordinary or emergency services to US citizens in Russia are seriously limited."

The new US ambassador to Moscow, Lynn Tracy, arrived in Russia on January 26. According to her, in her new position, she will pay special attention to maintaining the dialogue between Moscow and Washington, and will also direct efforts to strengthen ties between the Russian and American people.

At the same time, Russia has repeatedly denied reports of a new wave of mobilization. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said there was no need for a new wave of mobilization in Russia. On January 24, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that CNN's information about the possibility of another wave of mobilization in Russia is unreliable. The Kremlin representative, commenting on the claims of the American TV company that the possibility of mobilizing another 200 thousand people is being considered, said that these are rumors.
