OREANDA-NEWS Kazakhstan will follow the sanctions regime imposed on Russia and Berlin should have no concerns about this. This was stated at a press conference by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev after talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

"As for the possible circumvention of sanctions, Kazakhstan has unequivocally stated that it will follow the sanctions regime, we have contacts with relevant organizations to comply with the sanctions regime," Tokayev said. "I don't think there should be any concerns on the German side regarding possible actions aimed at circumventing the sanctions regime," he added.

Scholz, in turn, expressed satisfaction that the Government of Kazakhstan supports the West in efforts to prevent circumvention of sanctions.

Tokayev is in Germany on an official visit. After the meeting with Scholz, the leader of Kazakhstan plans to take part in the meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and Germany. In addition, the program of the visit includes Tokayev's speech at the Berlin Global Dialogue international forum and a series of meetings with representatives of the German business community.
