OREANDA-NEWS. Five people, including two policemen on duty - a captain and a major of the police of Kazakhstan, were killed in a shooting in the Alatau district of Almaty. The tragedy occurred on the evening of September 20. At the moment, the suspect is neutralized and is in custody.

According to the law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan, during the execution of the court order on eviction, one of the residents showed aggression and opened fire on bailiffs and local police inspectors. Presumably, the suspect used a hunting rifle. During the shooting, two police officers, one bailiff and two civilians were killed. The Kazakh authorities offer their condolences to the relatives of the victims in connection with the tragedy.

Currently, an investigative and operational group is working at the crime scene. The scene of the incident is also cordoned off by the police. A criminal case has already been initiated against the suspect. According to law enforcement officials, there is no longer a threat to the life and health of citizens.

The President of Russia, as reported in the Kremlin's press service, Vladimir Putin has already expressed his condolences in a telephone conversation to his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev immediately after the tragedy that evening.
