OREANDA-NEWS  On 04 March was announced, that as part of his working visit to the Republic of Serbia, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko met with Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic.

The meeting centred on trade and economic co-operation between Belarus and Serbia.

The sides expressed their mutual interest in signing an intergovernmental agreement on free trade and in starting joint companies to assemble Belarusian tractors, buses, automobiles and other vehicles and equipment.

The meeting also discussed the idea of establishing a business co-operation council which should include the leading businessmen of the two countries.

These, as well as other issues, are expected to be discussed in detail during the visit of Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Mladjan Dinkic to Belarus, which is scheduled to take place in late March 2009. The Vice-Premier will arrive in Belarus together with a delegation of Serbian businessmen.
