OREANDA-NEWS  A barrel of Brent benchmark oil could rise in price to $200 in the event of further large-scale attacks on Iran's energy infrastructure. This condition was called by analysts of the American bank Citigroup, RIA Novosti reports.

New strikes on Iran's energy sector, as well as the blocking of the Strait of Hormuz, may accelerate commodity prices.

"In the framework of an optimistic scenario for prices, the probability of which is estimated at 30 percent, the price of Brent crude oil may reach $ 150 per barrel and rise to $ 200 if Iran attacks larger energy infrastructure facilities or if the Strait of Hormuz is actually closed until June," experts believe.

Against the background of the ongoing conflict, oil prices will rise to 110-120 dollars per barrel in the coming days. Raw materials will rise in price until political or strategic intervention is required.

Against the background of Iran's statements about missile strikes by the United States and Israel against its energy facilities, the cost of Brent North Sea crude oil has moved to a rapid increase. By 16:05 Moscow time, the price of the futures contract for the supply of Brent in May jumped by 4.35 percent to the closing level of the previous trading session and reached 107.9 dollars per barrel.
