OREANDA-NEWS  Water from the Dnieper began to flow into the streets of Novaya Kakhovka after the breakthrough of the Kakhovskaya HPP. Footage of the incoming water on the central streets of the city was shown by the correspondent of Izvestia Emil Timashev on June 6.

They show how water flows into the central streets in waves, sidewalks are flooded.

"The Dnieper has overflowed its banks, water is entering and entering the streets of the city, in the very center," the journalist said.

The correspondent added that Ukrainian militants continue to shell the city, and also strike at the area near the hydroelectric power station.

Along with this, the acting governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, said in his Telegram channel that agricultural fields along the Dnieper coast were washed away due to the destruction of the Kakhovskaya HPP, and peaceful infrastructure was disrupted.


At the same time, according to him, the breakthrough will not greatly affect the situation in the Kherson region, a major evacuation of people will not be required.
