Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov on December 9 met with Marco Aurelio Garcia, Assistant to the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, who is in Moscow to attend an international conference, ‘BRIC Countries on the World Political Map: New Challenges.’

During the conversation, held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, the outcomes of the official visit on November 24-26 to Brazil of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, were discussed, along with the measures to implement the accords reached during its course to shift bilateral strategic partnership relations in different fields onto the path of practical interaction.

Certain topical themes of the global agenda were examined and the importance of broadening Russian-Brazilian foreign policy interaction, including in matters concerning the world financial crisis, was emphasized.
