OREANDA-NEWS. February 04, 2010. The prime ministers of the two countries discussed the current state of Polish-Russian relations, as well as the prospects for cooperation in trade, the economy and the energy sector.

Mr Putin and Mr Tusk agreed to hold the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in Kaliningrad in April.

During the conversation, Mr Putin invited Mr Tusk to visit Russia for commemorative events in Katyn, where a large number of Soviet citizens died in the late 1930s as the result of political repressions, Polish officers were executed in 1940, and the Nazis later killed many Red Army soldiers.

The Polish Prime Minister gratefully accepted the invitation.
