OREANDA-NEWSThe next general election in the UK may be the most unpredictable in recent decades in connection with the country's exit from the European Union (Brexit). This conclusion was reached by the authors of the British Election Study scientific project, who analyzed the results of the general election since 1964, the British business newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Such elections in the United Kingdom are scheduled for May 5, 2022, but few doubt, experts say that they will be held much earlier than this date, already before the end of 2019. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has already twice tried to get extraordinary parliamentary elections to try to strengthen his position before the kingdom leaves the community, but both times the House of Commons refused to support the government’s proposal. Soon, Johnson, according to media reports, intends to come up with a similar initiative once again.

According to researchers, between the general will in 2015 and 2017. one third of the voters changed their party membership, while between 1964 and 1966 only 13% of the electorate did it.
