OREANDA-NEWS. The anti-aircraft guided missile Buk-M2E shot an Israeli fighter F-16, which on April 20 participated in a night attack on the position of the Syrian government army.

According to the Aviapro portal, citing the Syrian media, a rocket did not manage to hit the plane with a direct strike, but the F-16 received a number of injuries after an explosion in the immediate vicinity.

Currently, Israel has not officially commented on the incident, but a number of local media reported about an attack by Syrian air defense systems on Israeli aircraft, citing military sources in Tel Aviv. Experts doubt that the fighter was able to survive. Specialists note that the information that the Israeli airplane could not be shot down was most likely unreliable.
