OREANDA-NEWS  Work on the restoration of the second railway track on the Crimean Bridge is planned to be completed in 6-7 months, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin told reporters on Tuesday.

"We have found a technological solution to restore the second railway track on the Crimean Bridge without stopping traffic on the first one. I think we will complete this work in 6-7 months," Khusnullin said.

According to him, such an engineering solution will save the volume of traffic to the peninsula. "The work will be carried out in a planned, operational mode, without affecting the first way," he stressed.

Earlier, the Russian government instructed to complete the restoration of the damaged railway track of the Crimean Bridge by December 1, 2023. The corresponding decree of the Cabinet of Ministers dated October 24 was published on Tuesday on the official Internet portal of legal information. At the same time, Khusnullin reported that it is necessary to start traffic on the second railway track of the Crimean Bridge earlier than September 15, 2023.

On October 8, a truck was blown up on the automobile part of the Crimean Bridge, after which the fuel tanks of the train caught fire. Two spans of the roadbed of the two-lane branch line, which goes from Krasnodar to Kerch, collapsed. The automobile thread from Kerch to Taman has survived. Several people were killed. A criminal case has been opened under the article "terrorism".
