OREANDA-NEWS There are no plans to limit the use of VPNs in Russia in 2026, Sergei Boyarsky, head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications, told RIA Novosti.
"There are no plans to limit the use of VPNs for next year," he said.
The MP noted that a VPN is a tool for circumventing blockages, which, in turn, are correct and are implemented by the state in accordance with the law. But, as Boyarsky noted, there are also "unfriendly" blockages related to the unprecedented sanctions policy against Russia abroad, which also need to be circumvented somehow.
