OREANDA-NEWS 59.9 million people, or 40.9% of the country's population, were vaccinated against influenza in Russia, according to the Rospotrebnadzor website on Tuesday.

The ministry clarified that since the beginning of November, the number of vaccinated has increased from 45 to 60 million. "The vaccination campaign against influenza continues in the Russian Federation. Vaccination is carried out in all subjects of the Russian Federation. For the current period, more than 59.9 million people have been vaccinated in the whole country, which is 40.9% of the country's population," the report says.

It is noted that the incidence of ARVI is caused by respiratory viruses of non-influenza etiology (rhinoviruses, parainfluenza viruses, adenoviruses and others), but the proportion of influenza viruses continues to increase.

Rospotrebnadzor also noted that the vaccines recommended in the Russian Federation are effective, help protect against the disease and its dangerous manifestations.
