OREANDA-NEWS The state-owned company JSC GLONASS is launching a new generation of emergency call devices (UWEOS 2.0) based on ERA-GLONASS, which will allow the introduction of a unique platform of services for motorists, CEO of the company Alexey Raikevich told RIA Novosti.
"The launch of a new generation of emergency call devices on the market launches the introduction of a unique platform of services for motorists based on ERA-GLONASS. This solution will increase the safety and comfort of millions of drivers and passengers. Now the smart device provides monitoring of equipment, and in the future we will expand the range of services, including, for example, search in case of theft," said the head of the state–owned company.
To date, more than 11 million vehicles have been connected to the ERA-GLONASS state information system. The previous generation of UWEOS allowed automatically or by pressing the "SOS" button to transmit the coordinates and characteristics of the car to the emergency services.
"The further development of UWEOS implies the addition of devices with the functions of a connected car - providing, at the request of the owner, the ability to monitor the location of transport in real time, the parameters of the operation of the car's units, as well as a number of other parameters," the GLONASS press service said.
According to Vladimir Makarenko, Director of development of the UWEOS 2.0 manufacturer Fort Telecom, the new generation devices can be useful not only in case of an accident, but also during daily trips. To get access to new functions, owners of vehicles with Fort Telecom UWEOS installed just need to update the terminal firmware.
The official distributor of Chinese trucks Sany Odin Group will be the first to introduce the updated devices in Russia. The agreement on the launch of the platform was signed by Raikevich, Makarenko and Leonid Tkachik, CEO of Odin Group. The ceremony took place in Moscow at the Comtrans 2024 exhibition site.
