Rostec called the MC-21 aircraft a symbol of overcoming sanctions

OREANDA-NEWS The MC-21 aircraft has become a symbol of Russia's overcoming of Western sanctions, Rostec Executive Director Oleg Yevtushenko said.
The MC-21 prototype, equipped with new Russian systems and assemblies, took to the skies for the first time on April 29 from the airfield of the Yakovlev Irkutsk Aviation Plant (part of Rostec).
"The MC-21 has become a symbol of overcoming the sanctions pressure. Despite the departure of the foreign partners with whom this aircraft was originally created, the project is not just alive, but ready to survive the Boeing… Certification tests will begin very soon in Zhukovsky near Moscow. In 2026, we plan to start supplying aircraft to airlines," Yevtushenko said.
