OREANDA-NEWS Everything has been created in Russia for the maintenance and repair of common helicopter engines, including those produced at the Ukrainian company Motor Sich, and there are no problems with repairs, Rostec told RIA Novosti.

"All conditions have been created in Russia for the maintenance and repair of the entire range of common helicopter engines, including the TV3-117 engines previously produced at the Ukrainian company Motor Sich. This is import substitution in action: there are no problems with repairing these engines and providing the necessary spare parts," the state corporation said.

They added that there is enough capacity in Russia to replace outdated TV2-117 helicopter engines with modern VK-2500.
"As for the long-outdated TV2-117 engines, which were produced until the mid-90s, we see no point in resuscitating these engines. These are almost antiques, and the operation of helicopters with them may pose a security threat," Rostec said.

"The UEC facilities are mass-producing its own line of VK-2500 engines. New materials and technologies are used in production. These engines are certified, have increased efficiency and reliability, and meet modern safety requirements," the state corporation added.
