This contest is a good opportunity for the future nuclear power engineers to enlarge their knowledge of the sphere. Of course, this is not a mass production of personnel. We are just trying to encourage the most active and talented," Krupnov said.

Participating in the contest are research and analytical projects, internet-sites, essays and articles. The jury comprises well-known scientists and nuclear power experts. 710 projects from over 120 settlements of Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus took part in the first round. 40 of them have qualified for the final. Regional rounds were carried out in Seversk (Tomsk region), Balakovo (Saratov region), Sosnovy Bor Leningrad region) and Udomlia (Tver region) in Feb-Mar 2007. The awarding of the winners is to take place in the Conference Hall of the Federal Agency of Nuclear Energy on Apr 20 11.00 AM.  The key goals of the contest are to reveal talented youths wishing to master a wide spectrum of professions in the nuclear power industry and to help students in their professional education and personal development by involving them in scientific-education projects under supervision of nuclear power professionals.
