OREANDA-NEWS. May 22, 2007. In January — April 2007, pulp and paper output by the corporation’s subsidiaries amounted to 879 thousand tonnes, 6.7% up as compared to the first four months of 2006. Market pulp output went up 10% to over 524,2 thousand tonnes. Board production raised by 2% to 257,1 thousand tonnes. Paper production totalled 90,5 thousand tonnes, 3% up year-over-year, reported the press-centre of Ilim Pulp.
Pulping went up 7% to 863,2 thousand tonnes.
Mechanical woodworking products saw a considerable growth owing to hardboard output that went up 27% totalling 17,3 million sq metres. Output of woodworking products was up 27% at 3,9 thousand cu metres. 46,5 thousand cu metres of plywood was produced, up 1% from the past year’s level. Market lumber production output amounted to 155,6 thousand cu metres, 5% down year-over-year.
Over the first four months of 2007, the logging companies of the Corporation logged 2,9 million cu metres of timber, 10,4% up year-over-year. Total timber supply by Ilim Pulp’s subsidiaries was 10,1% up from the level of 2006 at 2 million cu metres. The timber supply provided by outresourced loggers was up 12,4% totalling 2,8 million cu metres. The correlation between inside and outside supply reflects the company’s plan to optimize raw wood supply based on the logging markets analysis.
