OREANDA-NEWS. September 12, 2008. M2M Telematica company has developed a navigational tracker collar for pets. The tracker is based on the GLONASS global navigation system technology. Mainly, the tracker is aimed at demonstrating GLONASS capabilities. The company runs marketing now to define if the serial production and selling would be profitable.

The dog-collar helps to track the pet by acquiring the signal in the mobile note- book or a pocket computer.

The device installed in the tracker allows to define coordinates of the pet. The capability is maintained by a small navigation module developed by Navis design bureau. It receives GLONASS signal and transmits the data to a special server via GSM links. So, to get the information about the dog, you can go to CyberWeb® dedicated section. More datailed data can be obtained by using CyberFleet® application in the computer.

There are several modifications of the tracker`s device, which have different battery operation and autonomous life times.

The navigation collar also has some unique features, such as embedded triple-axes accelerometer which enhances user quality. The owner of the device can track the trajectory of the moving object in real time.

According to Alexander Gurko, M2M Telematica Director General, the new technology offers wide range of the marketing opportunities for the GLONASS system. Moreover, the device can use signals from both GLONASS and GPS systems.
