OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2009. The new airliner Boeing-737-700 arrived to the International Airport of Ashgabat from Seattle. It is the second of three aircrafts that were delivered to our country in accordance with the contract for the purchase of three Boeing-737-700 aircrafts concluded with the Boeing Company (USA) this August in compliance with the recent Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan.

The first airliner arrived to Turkmenistan in early September. In the near future the third airliner purchased by the Turkmenhowayollary State National Service under the contract recently concluded with the American manufacturers will replenish the fleet of Turkmenhowayollary State National Service.

According to the Turkmenhowayollary State National Service the new airliners will convey passengers. It is symbolic that the first flight of two new aircrafts was from Ashgabat to Turkmenbashi. These aircrafts took the deputies of the Mejlis, the high-ranking officials of the ministries, higher educational institutions, the foreign diplomats and journalists to the littoral city that hosted the final stage of the Silk Way-2009 International Rally initiated by the President of Turkmenistan.

It should be noted that this year the new international airport will be put into operation in Turkmenbashi town. It will be an important nodal point on the important transit routes from Europe to South and Southeastern Asia and the ‘air gateway’ of Avaza national tourism zone being created on the Caspian Sea coast.

The new aircrafts will fly not only domestic routes but also make non-stop flights from Turkmenistan to almost any destination in Asia and Europe. The distance of flight is almost 5,500 km that allows using these aircrafts to convey passengers to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, Minsk, Frankfurt and other cities.

Thus, Turkmen civil aviators will extend the geography of international passenger traffic and increase the frequency of flights on the existing routes that will promote the open door policy and international cooperation. In particular, the Ashgabat-Paris flight will be opened in the near future.

Today the civil aviation fleet of Turkmenistan is replenished through purchasing state-of-the-art aircrafts and equipment produced by the world’s leading manufacturers. In recent years the fleet was replenished with the new Boeing aircrafts, which proved their effectiveness in the local conditions. Today it includes the aircrafts of four types produced by the American aircraft building giant – Boeing-717, B-737, B-757 and wide-body long-linehaul liner Boeing-767-300 ER. By 2011 two more Boeing airliners with the long distance of flight and high level of safety and comfort will be purchased to address the needs of civil aviation of Turkmenistan.
