The experts gather information on the chemical products and work out their safety data sheets.

The European Community regulation on chemicals and their safe use REACH (the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances) entered into force on 1 July 2007. According to it, all chemical substances produced and exported to the amount of 1 tonne and more per year within the European Union should be registered with the European Chemicals Agency. The companies that are eager to work on the EU market should undergo preliminary authorization in compliance with the REACH Regulation. In late 2008 the Gomel Chemical Plant completed the preliminary authorization phase what enabled the company to continue the export to the European Union.

The Gomel Chemical Plant exports nearly 50% of its make to the EU.

The Gomel Chemical Plant, one of Belarus’ largest chemical companies, is part of the Belneftekhim Company. The plant employs 2,700 people.
