OREANDA-NEWS. September 06, 2010. DTEK, Ukraine’s leading private sector fuel and energy company, announces that it has increased its stake in share capital of Kyivenergo up to 24,9% from 6%. Investment broker Altana Capital was acting as an organizer of the deal. Amount of the purchase is not disclosed.
 
Commenting on the deal, Maxim Timchenko, CEO of DTEK, said:
 
"DTEK is interested in further increasing its stake in Kyivenergo through purchasing additional shares on the open market as well as through privatisation. We aim for strategic partnership and ready to share our experience in renovation of generation equipment, business process optimisation, increasing efficiency of corporate governance. We are ready to discuss investment needs of Kyivenergo for introduction of new technology and refurbishment of its highly depreciated assets. It will help the company to constantly deliver electricity and heating for its customers with a high quality and reliability".

The characteristics of electric power stations and networks

The installed electrical capacity of power stations is:

Kyivenergo CHP-5 700 MW;
Kyivenergo CHP-6 500 MW;

The total length of 0,4-110 kV cable power transmission lines is 9 900 km, of overhead transmission lines is 1 600 km.

Transformation and control of power supply are executed at 60 substations 35-110 kV with the total capacity of 3670.4 MVA and 3175 transformer substations 10/0.4 kV with the total capacity of 2268 MVA.
 
The characteristics of heat sources and heating networks

The installed heat capacity of CHP-5 is 1874 Gcal/h, of CHP-6 is 1740 Gcal/h, of DH networks is 3106 Gcal/h, of Zhytloteploenergo is 1731 Gcal/h, of "Energia" Plant is 104 Gcal/h.

Distribution and transportation of heat to the consumers are fulfilled via pipeline network; the total length of which is 4500 km. The necessary hydraulic operating mode is provided by 19 pumping stations. Company owns and service over 2 300 heat substations.
