OREANDA-NEWS. October 04, 2010. The annual ceremony for awarding the winners of the prestigious Lloyd’s List Global Awards – created by a leading specialised maritime publishing house – took place in London on 29 September 2010. SCF Group was named a winner in the category “Company of the Year”.

“This award recognises the contribution of more than 8,000 employees within SCF Group, including the captains and crews of our ships, as well as shore-based personnel. It also demonstrates the authority and respect enjoyed by this Russian shipping company among its customers and business partners. We should like to share our success with them” – said Sergey Frank, Sovcomflot President and CEO.

2009 and the first half of 2010 was, without exception, a rather difficult time for all enterprises of the shipping industry. So, being awarded “Company of the Year”, particularly now, is of special value to our company.

In the most recent half year, the Group has significantly broadened the range of activities offered to its customers. In addition to seaborne transportation of hydrocarbons, the company is also engaged in: the transhipment of crude oil via FSO facilities; the development of effective logistics for energy resource transportation in the harsh climate of the Arctic and Far Eastern seas; providing towage services and supply vessels for drilling rigs and offshore platforms support.

Sound financial backing allows Sovcomflot to fully concentrate on enhancing the quality of services offered to its customers, on implementing the programmes for providing safety of navigation, protection of the marine environment and energy saving.
