OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2010. The national telecommunications operator Enforta has acquired fibre-optic channels from New Telecommunications LLC, operating as ‘NEX3’.

The transaction provides to Enforta 50% of the channel capacity of New Telecommunications’ fibre optic cable (a total of 28 km) in the central districts of Ryazan. The acquisition of the fibre-optic line will make the company’s entire technical infrastructure in the city more efficient. The newly acquired capacity allows the company to quickly transfer large volumes of subscriber data with high quality.

“Having the fibre optic capacity will greatly expand Enforta’s technical capabilities,” says Oleg Taynov, Enforta’s Deputy General Director for Commerce. “It allows us to back up the intracity backbone network much more effectively while freeing up some of our own radio capacity for new connections.”

Before concluding the transaction, Enforta inspected and tested the fibre optic lines and assessed the prospects for their use. During the next two months, the new capacity will be brought into full compliance with Enforta’s technical standards and then put into operation.

“The national wireless data network that Enforta has built based on WiMAX technology allows us to offer our corporate customers across the country the full range of telecommunications services they need to do business efficiently,” says Taynov. “We offer the most comprehensive set of telecom products and solutions for the office: high-speed Internet, telephony, corporate networks (VPN), videoconferencing and closed-circuit television services, PBX and Wi-Fi - everything that companies need in telecoms. But having our own fibre optic capacity will allow us to provide services using two independent technologies to our most demanding customers who need a reliable communication channel even in the event of a “nuclear war”.

Enforta began doing business in Ryazan in September 2005. Ryazan was the second pilot city, where the national carrier refined the process of starting a network from scratch in a new city. The first pilot city was Novosibirsk, where the company launched a network in March 2005 following the acquisition of Yevgenia. Since that time, the company has merged all the companies it acquired in 2003-2007 under a single legal entity and single brand.
