OREANDA-NEWS. October 24, 2011. SCM is among the top 3 businesses to have won the contest of non-financial reports with its 2009-2010 Sustainability Report presented at CSR MarketPlace: Social and Ecological Projects Exhibition organised by CSR Development Centre.

Fourteen Ukrainian companies took part in the exhibition, and the winners were decided by a public vote. Along with SCM, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih and Kyivstar reports were among the top 3.

SCM Sustainability Report for 2009-2010 complied with international standards and best international practices, and was assured by independent auditors Ernst & Young. The report has traditionally outlined approaches of SCM to the following strategic areas of corporate responsibility: health and safety, environment, employment, investment in communities, climate change and energy efficiency.

SCM's Director of International and Investor Relations Jock Mendoza-Wilson commented on SCM's victory in the contest of non-financial reports as follows: "We are delighted that our commitment to the highest standards in sustainability reporting and responsible business has been given this recognition. I hope that the contest will act as encouragement for people to read our report and for other Ukrainian businesses to follow suit and take up the challenge to report on their initiatives in health, safety, environment and CSR."
