OREANDA-NEWS. December 1, 2011. Sergey Kirienko, Director General of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation, arrived at Joint-Stock Company Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union (JSC PIMCU, a subsidiary of ARMZ Uranium Holding) for a one-day visit.

During the visit, he presented the settlers from Oktyabrsky village with the keys to their new apartments in the last of the six houses built for them and announced the completion of the program.

Sergey Kirienko visited levels 12 and 13 of Gluboky Mine and performed the ceremonial commissioning of the Exploration-and-Production Shaft 14 winding engine at Mine 8 now under construction. Together with Ravil Geniatulin, the Governor of Zabaikalsky Krai, he also visited machinery and repair plant of the combine, where two projects within the frame of Rosatom Production System are being speedily implemented.

Sergey Kirienko and Ravil Geniatulin met with JSC PIMCU’s employees and the city’s public representatives, told about the development prospects for the company and its significance for the Russian nuclear industry and the region, and then answered the questions of the audience.

“We see JSC PIMCU as an absolutely strategic unit” Sergey Kirienko said. Making a speech, he highlighted that “today, the key objectives of the company are closely linked with implementing projects on construction of Mines 6 and 7, renewing equipment fleet and boosting production efficiency.”

Ravil Geniatulin pointed out that the Russian nuclear industry contributes significantly to the development of the region, and the meeting with Director General of Rosatom State Corporation opened up new vistas of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Joint project of the Federal Agency for Atomic Energy (subsequently Rosatom State Corporation) and the Chita Region (subsequently Zabaikalsky Krai) on resettlement of Oktyabrsky village residents was launched in 2006. During the project implementation, a total of 41,576 square meters of new housing have been built and commissioned. 741 families moved into new apartments. The program was funded with RUB 840 mln, RUB 600 mln being allocated by Rosatom State Corporation and Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union.
