OREANDA-NEWS. September 6, 2012. As a part of its philosophy of improving the quality of life of the communities living in and around its area of operations, Coastal Gujarat Power (CGPL), a 100 percent subsidiary of Tata Power developing the 4,000 MW Mundra Ultra Mega Power Plant, organised a free health check-up camp for the village community at Modhava village. This initiative was organised under the Arogya programme implemented by CGPL.

During the camp, general diagnostics and skin treatment services were made available to the villagers. Senior dermatologist, Dr Ramanik Patel from Bhuj was invited for consultation for skin diseases and a site medical team consisting of three medical officers and five paramedics were present to diagnose and give treatment on general ailments.

The camp successfully reached out to 144 villagers, who received not only free consultation but also free medicines. Apart from skin treatment, the beneficiaries were treated for sicknesses such as viral fever, common cold, gastritis, worm infection, bronchial asthma and others. CGPL employees, including the senior level management team, volunteered to make the camp a major success.

Commenting on this initiative, KK Sharma, chief, Mundra Project, said, “We have been regularly conducting various health-care initiatives across the region. It’s our endeavour to improve the quality of life of our communities through such health camps and drives. We are proud to drive such initiatives for the well-being of our communities.”
