OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2013. Uralkali (LSE: URKA), one of the world’s largest potash producers, has signed agreements with compound fertiliser producers – Acron Group, Uralchem Group, Eurochem Group, PhosAgro Group, JSC Minudobreniya, Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, and ARVI NPK – to supply potash from 2013 through 2017 in the amount of c.10 million tonnes of KCl *. The agreements are made in compliance with the Recommendations for Nondiscriminatory Access to Potash Acquisition issued by the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS).

In December 2012 FAS issued Recommendations for Nondiscriminatory Access to Purchasing Potash, valid from 1 January 2013 till 31 December 2017, for Uralkali to set the price for potassium chloride (KCl) for all consumers not exceeding the minimum export price. The price for Russian consumers is calculated on a quarterly basis.

Therefore, Uralkali has set the prices for Russian NPK producers for Q1 2013 at RUB 10,252 per tonne (95% KCl). The NPK producers buying over 30,000 tonnes of KCl per annum and having concluded contract for three years or longer will get a discount of USD 27 per tonne for all volumes purchased during the year.

Uralkali (www.uralkali.com) is one of the world’s largest potash producers with a market share of about 20%. The Company’s assets consist of 5 mines and 7 ore-treatment mills situated in the towns of Berezniki and Solikamsk (Perm Territory, Russia).
