OREANDA-NEWS. February 21, 2014. As it was noted in the speech of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov at the Cabinet of Ministers session on the outcomes of the nation’s socio-economic development in 2013 and the critical priority dimensions of the economic program for 2014, the current state of the business environment and terms of doing business in Uzbekistan meet the requirements and principles of free market economy as well as the universal international norms.

As a result of such opportunities, enterprises established jointly with foreign partners have been growing in number, and the activities of entrepreneurship entities have been advancing dynamically.

A classical example to this statement is the Uzbek-Czech joint venture Pulsar-Group Brewery in the city of Samarkand that was instituted in 1997. A diversity of beverages are currently produced at the enterprise. The growth in the wellbeing of our people is being accompanied with the same growth in the requirements to the quality and range of foods,” says Fakhriddin Umarov, director general of the Pulsar-Group Brewery. “Thus we try to consistently modernize our enterprise, expand the variety and uplift the quality of goods. We have brought from abroad and installed cutting-edge technologies and equipment worth 25 million US dollars, and introduced the system of quality management ISO 9001:2000. To date, around twenty varieties of beer, more than ten types of beverages and eight kinds of juices are produced here. The production of another two varieties of goods was launched last year – the natural juices under the trademark RIO and the sparkling soft drink LeMonadier.”

The produce of the enterprise enjoys a great demand in the domestic market. It is supplied to consumers through regional and urban trade points.

The venture employs about four hundred people. The majority of the personnel are young people who have grasped thoroughly the modern technologies. The enterprise has been enhancing its activities from one year to another, hence raising the demand in highly qualified workers. In order to meet this demand, a close cooperation has been established with professional colleges in the region. Thus, around twenty graduates of colleges were provided with job in 2013.

“Having graduated from Samarkand College of Light Industry, I started working at this enterprise,” says Roman Levkovich. “Because I did my production internship here, I was rather quick to slip into the work. In addition, I am greatly helped with advices and instructions of experienced staff.”

The cooperation ties mounting among the enterprises in our country have been opening up greater opportunities for the Pulsar-Group Brewery, too. The venture has been regular in its display of its goods at exhibition and fairs organized in Uzbekistan, by enhancing thus its commercial and cooperation bonds. The team’s plans include the further elevation in production volumes and the expansion of the variety of goods.
