OREANDA-NEWS  In Russia, the introduction of a ban on the supply of diesel fuel abroad has been ruled out. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, his words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

"Such a measure is not being considered," the Deputy Prime minister said in response to a question from journalists about plans to restrict the export of diesel fuel along with a ban on gasoline supplies. He recalled that diesel is used by agricultural producers, but the situation in the agricultural sector is stable.

"There was no ban on diesel fuel, because diesel is produced twice as much in the country compared to consumption," Novak said. The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Agriculture annually sign a schedule of fuel supplies to farmers at the request of the regions.

Earlier it became known that the Russian government plans to impose a ban on gasoline exports for six months from March 1. The Cabinet also decided to increase the standard of diesel sales on the stock exchange to 16 percent.

According to Igor Yushkov, an expert at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, a leading analyst at the National Energy Security Fund, such restrictions are necessary to avoid rising fuel prices. "This is an attempt to prevent the occurrence of a deficit, and not to repay it, as it was the previous time in the fall," he said.
