OREANDA-NEWS  Poland remains the largest buyer of Russian liquefied petroleum gas in the EU and is increasing the volume of imports. This is reported by the newspaper Rzeczpospolita.

The material names the volume of gas purchases from Russia. So, last year Poland imported fuel for 710.3 million euros, while the rest of the bloc countries together spent 417 million.

Among all types of fuel in Poland, propane-butane ranks seventh with a share of 13.8 percent, it is used by about three million cars.

Warsaw is currently discussing the replacement of Russian liquefied petroleum gas from other countries. However, reorienting imports is an expensive process, since most of the infrastructure is located in the east.

Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that Budapest would not abandon reliable gas suppliers for political reasons.
