OREANDA-NEWS The offer of Moldovan NordGaz Furnizare on gas supplies from Turkey at prices significantly lower than those formed for Russian gas will be valid for all regions of the country. This was stated by the director of the company Alexander Grosu, RIA Novosti reports.

Prior to that, the agreement with NordGaz Furnizare was announced by the head of the Moldovan autonomy of Gagauzia, Evgenia Gutsul. According to her, Turkish gas will go to the region at a price of 10 lei (56 cents) per cubic meter, which is more than one and a half times lower than the current tariffs in the republic.

However, now Grosso indicated that the agreement with the southern region is a pilot, and in the future the company is ready to start selling cheap gas to the rest of the country. According to him, NordGaz Furnizare has agreed with several Turkish suppliers and concluded three preliminary agreements with European traders.

The head of the company stressed that they will continue to work on the possibility of expanding gas purchases in order to increase the number of suppliers and, accordingly, customers in Moldova.

Prior to that, Moldovan Energy Minister Viktor Parlikov questioned the reality of NordGaz Furnizare's proposal. He pointed out that the company has never been engaged in gas supplies, and the documents submitted to it do not bear the stamp of the Turkish company.

Currently, Moldova receives gas from Russia. Since May, the cost of a cubic meter of fuel for household consumers has amounted to 16.73 lei ($0.92). The unsettled problem remains the size of the debt for the deliveries of previous years. Gazprom demands more than $700 million, while Chisinau insists on an amount almost a hundred times less.
