OREANDA-NEWS  Roskachestvo intends to recommend tightening the rules for the sale of soft toys "Haggi Waggi", which are often sold under the guise of souvenirs without certificates of conformity and do not fall under the regulations mandatory for children's toys, Elena Sarattseva, deputy head of Roskachestvo, told reporters.

"In order to counteract the turnover of substandard products, Roskachestvo submitted consideration of this situation to a meeting of the state commission for combating illegal trafficking in industrial products, which is scheduled for the second quarter of 2023. We will propose to tighten the requirements for turnover so that such toys cannot be sold under the guise of a souvenir," Sarattseva said at a press conference.

A warning should be placed on the "Haggi Waggi" sold as souvenirs that these products are not intended for children, but if the necessary regulations were observed during manufacture, that the product is a toy.

Sarattseva explained that Roskachestvo conducted a study of the "Haggi Waggi" presented on the market, selecting samples from 18 manufacturers. The deputy head of the department stated that in almost 90% of the products studied, an excess of the permissible content of phenol and other toxic substances was recorded. Sarattseva warned that with regular contact with such a toy, the child may become drowsy, begin to suffer headaches and dizziness.
