OREANDA-NEWS There is nothing wrong with the fact that apartments in Moscow are bought not only by locals, but also by visitors, State Duma Deputy Vladimir Resin said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta. He dispelled the myth of "Moscow for Muscovites", noting that all Russians have the right to live in the capital.

"Moscow is not only for Muscovites, it is the capital of our motherland, and all Russians have the right to live in it," the parliamentarian stressed. Answering a question about large-scale construction in the city, Resin said that in European cities there are on average 70 square meters of housing for each resident, and in Moscow there are only 20 "squares".

"So there is enough work not only for you and me, but also for our grandchildren. Especially after the area of the capital increased two and a half times in 2012," the deputy promised. He called the complex development of the city the main merit of the metropolitan authorities. According to Resin, they are building not only kindergartens, schools and polyclinics next to residential buildings, but also good roads, and also create jobs for new settlers. "Housing, which is provided for everyone, is very important for Muscovites," the parliamentarian stressed.

Previously, apartments in Moscow were recognized as overvalued. The imbalance in the capital's housing market is increasing, experts have warned. According to UBS Bank, from mid-2020 to mid-2021, real housing prices in Moscow increased by 20 percent.
