OREANDA-NEWS  Iraq was left without Iranian gas. This was stated by the representative of the Iraqi Ministry of Electric Power of Iraq, Ahmed Moussa. He was quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to him, a telegram came from Tehran saying that Iran was forced to completely stop gas supplies due to unforeseen circumstances. As a result, Iraq lost from 4 to 4.5 megawatts of electricity. As a result, he had to switch to local alternative fuels in order to ensure the operation of power plants.

In early November, it was reported that Turkish refineries, in search of an alternative to Russian oil, increased their purchases from Iraq and Kazakhstan. The reason for this reversal was Western sanctions against Russia.

In 2024, Russia's trade with Iran increased by 13 percent. In 2025, we managed to add another eight percent. Moscow and Tehran are also discussing the possibility of cooperation in the field of gas and electricity.
