OREANDA-NEWS  Inflation in Russia slowed to 0.2% in monthly terms in July after 0.43% in May, and to 9.4% in annual terms from 9.88% a month earlier, Rosstat reported on Friday.

"In June 2025, compared with May 2025, the consumer price index was 100.20%, compared with December 2024 – 103.77%," the agency said in a publication.

The 0.2% inflation in June was minimal for the first time since August 2024, while prices also increased by 0.2% during the month.

In June, prices for food products increased by 0.11% month-on-month against 0.26% in May, and by 11.91% year-on-year.

Deflation in non-food products slowed down last month and amounted to 0.03% after prices fell by 0.13% a month earlier, and they rose by 4.47% year-on-year. Services in June added 0.59% compared to May and 12.02% compared to June last year.

By the end of the year, the Ministry of Economic Development expects inflation to slow down to 7.6% from 9.52% in 2024, with the Central Bank in the 7-8% range. At the same time, representatives of both the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Economic Development said that the slowdown in inflation in Russia was proceeding faster than expected.
