OREANDA-NEWS   Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko and Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam Chan Hong Ha held the 24th meeting of the Russian-Vietnamese Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation. As noted, the trade turnover between Russia and Vietnam should reach ten billion dollars by 2030.

"In the current conditions, we continue to move along the trajectory of meaningful and sustainable development. Vietnam is our long—standing partner, relations with which are traditionally friendly and are not subject to market fluctuations. Strengthening strategic partnership with Vietnam is one of the priorities of Russian foreign policy in the region," Chernyshenko said.

To achieve this goal, a comprehensive action plan will be developed on the main areas of joint work in such areas as industry, agriculture, energy, finance, transport, digitalization.

"We also consider it important to increase mutual tourist flow, develop the hospitality industry. To do this, we propose to open National Tourist Offices in Russia and Vietnam on a mutual basis. This step will allow establishing partnership relations between the profile companies of the two countries, will create opportunities for the exchange of experience, joint training of personnel, and will also increase mutual interest in tourist trips," Chernyshenko said.

Chang Hong Ha recalled that Russia and Vietnam have been linked by friendly relations for more than 70 years.

"Vietnam and the Russian Federation have long and friendly relations that have been going on for more than 73 years. These connections have passed all the tests, and we will never forget the help that you have been providing us throughout this time. We remember that a hundred years ago, President Ho Chi Minh arrived in Russia, and it was from Russia that he brought us such a spark that helped us liberate our country. Today we discussed new issues of our cooperation, including energy and climate change. I am sure that at this meeting we will achieve concrete results in order to increase the efficiency of the work of all departments. Dmitry Nikolaevich and I highly appreciate the work of the ruling commission over the past days, which has prepared for this meeting at the highest level," said Chang Hong Ha.

Dmitry Chernyshenko called on the Vietnamese side to attract athletes to participate in competitions in Russia, to organize joint formats of championships.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister extended an invitation to Vietnamese teams to join the international digital tournament "Games of the Future", which will be held in Kazan in 2024, as well as to take part in test competitions that are already taking place in the capital of Tatarstan.

Dmitry Chernyshenko and Chang Hong Ha signed the final protocol of the 24th meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Vietnamese commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation. Agreements were signed on scientific cooperation and the creation of a joint Southeastern center for development and research in the field of artificial intelligence and digital technologies.
