OREANDA-NEWS Twenty new employees arrived at the Russian Embassy in Pyongyang as part of a staff rotation, the Russian diplomatic mission in the DPRK reported on Thursday.

"On September 7, at Pyongyang's Sunan International Airport, for the first time since 2019, we met our new colleagues - 20 diplomats and technical staff who arrived at the embassy in the order of personnel rotation," the diplomatic mission said in a statement.

"For many months and years, while total "covid" isolation continued here, we only did what we saw someone off," the message says.

It clarifies that 18 people have remained in the service of the embassy over the past year.

"It was very difficult for us, but we survived! Welcoming the fresh reinforcements with joy, we say: Welcome to Pyongyang! There is a lot of work ahead, the country is setting new tasks for us," the Russian diplomatic mission said in a statement.
