OREANDA-NEWS Inspections of public notification systems are not only appropriate, but also necessary. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, quoted by RIA Novosti.
The inspection of warning systems takes place throughout Russia on October 4. On the eve of the planned events, the Ministry of Emergency Situations warned.
Similar exercises are regularly held in other countries, the Kremlin representative recalled and cited Japan as an example. There inspections are associated with increased seismological danger. Peskov refrained from evaluating measures to check warning systems. "This case should be handled by professionals, and it is they who perform their function," Peskov concluded.
Earlier, a civil defense training session was opened in the Moscow region. The exercises were held jointly with emergency services and civil defense forces. The governor of the Moscow region Andrey Vorobyov explained that such training is necessary to be prepared for emergency situations of any complexity.
