OREANDA-NEWS   The State Duma on Tuesday, December 20, adopted in the third and final reading the law on punishment for foreign agents under one article of the Code of Administrative Offenses (Administrative Code).

It is noted that in Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code ("Violation of the procedure for the activities of a non—profit organization performing the functions of a foreign agent"), in the wording of the first part of the "non-profit organization performing the functions of a foreign agent", the words "foreign agent" will be replaced by more general ones - "foreign agents", which will expand the list of persons to whom the rules on violation of the legislation on foreign agents.

The law will combine into one article such elements of administrative offenses as non-compliance with restrictions in connection with the status of a foreign agent, carrying out the activities of a foreign agent without the appropriate status, distributing materials without marking. It is noted that earlier these compositions could be found in separate articles of the Code.

In addition, the law provides for an increase in the fine for distributing materials without marking the status of a foreign agent for the heads and founders of organizations, as well as their members. Fines will range from 10 to 30 thousand rubles.

At the end of November, it was reported that the State Duma adopted a law on improving the regulation of the status of a foreign agent. According to the document, foreign agents will not be able to serve in the Interior Ministry and hold rallies.
