OREANDA-NEWS The film "Trap" by Russian director Anastasia Weber won the short film program at the Berlin Film Festival, winning the Golden Bear. This was reported by the press service of the screening.

"Trap" shows the life of young people in a big city. The film became the thesis of the director, who graduated from the St. Petersburg School of New Cinema. Her film starred non-professional actors.

The Instagram of the Moscow School of New Cinema says that the short film is dedicated to Sasha, who is in love with a college classmate's girlfriend and is trying to achieve her. The film also shows the life of the main character's sister Marina, who teaches at school during the day and dances at raves at night.

Director Anastasia Weber told in the school's social networks why she chose such a name for the film.

"This is not only an allegory about the "cage" or a reference to the current musical style. Trap is a way of life and a manner of extreme feeling that most young guys live in every corner of Russia. Trap is when you should have been dead for a long time, but still alive for some reason. When you feel too acutely and live by choosing your inner truth and passion as a guide," Weber said.

Another Russian film will be shown at the Berlinale this year. The Panorama program included "Products 24" directed by Mikhail Borodin about the history of the "Minnow slaves" and the life of migrants in Russia.
