OREANDA-NEWS Germany and Norway are considering a joint project to build a single hydrogen pipeline. It is designed to link the two countries and reduce Europe's dependence on gas supplies from Russia, Bloomberg reports.

In the near future, the countries have plans to conduct a feasibility study of the project, which, according to its developers, will eventually make it possible to transport «green» hydrogen from Norway to Germany. The statement was made after talks between German Economy Minister Robert Habeck and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gara Stere. The document also emphasizes the need for the development of appropriate infrastructure.

Earlier it became known that Poland will not renew the contract for the purchase of Russian gas after 2022. This was stated by the authorized representative of the Polish government on strategic energy infrastructure Peter Naimsky. He stressed that the country will not purchase gas from Russia even under short-term contracts. The long-term contract will end at the end of 2022.
