OREANDA-NEWS. October 22, 2009. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, on October 21 in Moscow held a meeting with the Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, S. M. Krishna, who heads the Indian delegation to the 15th session of the Russia-India Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation.

The heads of the foreign affairs agencies of Russia and India discussed a number of concrete issues in bilateral cooperation and also exchanged views on international and regional problems of mutual concern.

Furthermore, the sides noted with satisfaction the successful development of the Russian-Indian strategic partnership in priority areas, agreed further steps aimed at the effective realization of the accords reached during the contacts at the highest level, and reaffirmed the identity or similarity of the two countries’ approaches to topical global and regional problems.
