OREANDA-NEWS  Russia stopped importing potatoes from Georgia in July after nine months of continuous purchases, according to an analysis by RIA Novosti of data from the Georgian statistical service.

Russia began importing potatoes on a permanent basis in October last year, with imports peaking in April. Then purchases began to slow down. In July, for the first time, the Georgian ministry did not report on potato exports to Russia.

At the same time, in July, Russia reduced potato imports from China to $6.9 million, which is 1.8 times less than in June, RIA Novosti previously reported based on an analysis of Eurostat data.
