There will be fewer parallel imports in Russia

OREANDA-NEWS The volume of parallel imports will continue to decline in 2026. Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade, shared this forecast in an interview with TASS.
"We forecast a further decline in parallel imports. The most important task of the ministry is to consistently replace parallel imports by developing its own production and increasing supplies from friendly countries," said the head of the department.
Despite the fact that there will be fewer parallel imports, Alikhanov clarified that their volumes will be adjusted with an eye to the emergence of alternatives. We are talking about both the domestic market and brands from friendly countries, as well as the restoration of official supply channels.
"Any changes to the list are made taking into account the interests of consumers and the needs of the industry. Our priority is market stability and avoiding shortages," the minister concluded.
Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade explained plans to reduce the list of parallel imports at the expense of individual items by the fact that domestic consumers are effectively reorienting to Russian products and goods from friendly countries. At the same time, manufacturers themselves master and develop new names for them.
