OREANDA-NEWS  The United Kingdom raised the level of relations with Azerbaijan to a strategic partnership after the visit of British Minister for European Affairs Stephen Doughty to the President of the Republic Ilham Aliyev. Doughty announced the elevation of relations between the UK and Azerbaijan to the level of a strategic partnership during an official visit to Baku.

During this visit, the parties also discussed various topics. "The discussions focused on the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, and regional security," the statement said.

Earlier, Ilham Aliyev described the events in Azerbaijan over the past five years with the word "victory". According to the politician, during this time "no external force has been able to influence" Baku's actions.
