Amur Region will receive a preferential loan for the construction of a cable car

OREANDA-NEWS The Amur region will receive preferential loans from the state corporation VEB.The Russian Federation has agreed to build a cross-border cable car through Amur Blagoveshchensk - Heihe and a processing plant, the regional government reports.
The relevant decision was made following a meeting of the presidium of the government commission on the socio-economic development of the Far East, which was chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev.
"Preferential credit facilities (with a Far Eastern subsidy) in the amount of 16 billion rubles are provided by VEB State Corporation.The Russian Federation will provide for the construction of the world's first interstate cable car, which will connect Russia and China across the Amur River. In addition, three more projects will be funded in the Amur Region and in Primorye," the regional government said in a statement.
According to the governor of the region Vasily Orlov, the Amur Region is a leader in attracting investments among the regions of the Far East. By the end of 2024, a record amount was raised - more than 956 billion rubles of investments.
"Large companies see the potential of our region and are implementing large-scale projects on our territory that stimulate the socio-economic development of the region. Government support, including preferential loans from VEB.The Russian Federation allows us to implement projects faster and more efficiently, creating new jobs, developing infrastructure and increasing the competitiveness of our territory," Orlov said.
The Blagoveshchensk – Heihe cable car will connect not only neighboring cities, but also states. The project involves the construction of stations and passenger terminals of the cable car on opposite banks of the Amur River from the Russian and Chinese sides. In addition to the cable car, concessional financing will be provided for the construction of a production and logistics complex for deep processing of soybeans and rapeseed in the city of Belogorsk. The new company will be launched in 2026.
