OREANDA-NEWS From January to October 2025, an outbreak of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS), otherwise known as mouse fever, was recorded in Russia. This is reported by Izvestia.
It is noted that the incidence was registered in eight federal districts and 54 regions of Russia. At the same time, 86 percent of those infected were urban residents.
Anastasia Sidorova, head of the Rospotrebnadzor surveillance Department for the Udmurt Republic, said that the rural population in the region suffers less than the urban population. "This is due to the fact that most of the patients are from Izhevsk and Zavyalovsky district. They go to their garden plots and get infected there," she said.
